Imlil village in the High Atlas Mountains

Mountain trips

Atlas Mountains School Trips

The High Atlas rises just an hour or two from Marrakech. It offers walking, fresh air and a close look at Amazigh village life — a strong option for groups who want an active trip without the long drive to the desert.

Educational value

Students see how communities farm steep terraces, manage snowmelt and build with local stone and earth, and they experience Amazigh hospitality first hand. Walking days also build teamwork and resilience.

Frequently asked questions

How difficult are the hikes?

We grade routes for your group, from gentle valley walks of 2–3 hours to fuller days for fitter groups.

Can we do Mount Toubkal?

Toubkal is a serious high-altitude trek and is usually not suitable for school groups. We recommend valley routes instead; older, experienced groups can ask us.

Where do we stay?

Usually in mountain guesthouses that host groups, with simpler facilities than city hotels.
